Permanency Support Program

Woomera Aboriginal Corporation (WAC) is funded by the Department of Communities of Justice (DCJ) to deliver the Permanency Support Program in the Albury region. This program supports safety, wellbeing and positive life outcomes for children and young people in the child protection and out-of-home care (OOHC) systems in NSW.

The Permanency Support Program has three goals

1. A better care experience by supporting Children and Young People’s individual needs, sense of cultural and personal identity, and advocating for Children, Young People and their carer/s.
2. Fewer entries into care by promoting family connections.
3. Providing a safe and stable place for Children and Young People to thrive and heal from past trauma.

Achieving permanency for children and young people is the priority. Our caseworkers work with a child and the people who love and care for that child, to identify the best permanency goal and to attain that goal within two years.
